Douglas Ross, Chairman of SIBA Scotland commented that, “To win the SIBA SCOTLAND SUPREME CHAMPION AWARD 2007 the beer selected has to be judged on clarity, appearance, aroma, condition, taste, aftertaste but most importantly on the ability to be a beer that will sell well. I am delighted to say that this year EDINBURGH GOLD proved to have all these qualities and was a very popular winner.
The judging panel commented on the increasingly high quality of the beers entered into the competition with this year achieving a very high standard from an ever-growing number of Scottish breweries producing quality award winning beers.
The SIBA Scotland judging panel is made up of brewing experts, brewing trade media, CAMRA tasting panel experts, & the licensed trade and is overseen by Peter Amor, the national chairman of SIBA. These people are very hard to please and STEVE STEWART and his team have done an outstanding job in brewing a beer, EDINBURGH GOLD, that is a worthy winner of the award SIBA SCOTLAND SUPREME CHAMPION 2007.”
