At Gun Brewery we’re a small and friendly team, brewing in a lovely new brewery with a busy taproom, in the heart of the beautiful Sussex countryside.
We’re seeking an experienced full time Production Brewer to join our team. Reporting to our Head Brewer, this role will involve:
Responsibilities
- Wort production on our 30bbl brew house, managing fermentation
- Cellar management / QC / sensory evaluation
- Canning, kegging & cask racking
- Cleaning casks, kegs & vessels
- Meticulous record keeping
- Keeping the brewery & coldstores clean & tidy. Accepting / processing Goods In.
- Contribute to planning of specials/small batches and recipe development
- Engage in staff training / knowledge sharing sessions
- Contribute to writing / updating of SOPs, risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Representing the brewery at occasional events
- We are a small team, and when needed, we all muck in with a variety of tasks across the business.
Requirements
Essential
- A passion for craft beer brewing, knowledge of the market and keenness to learn
- Experience of working within a commercial brewery
- Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly
- Due to the physical nature of working in a brewery, you must be physically fit and able to lift and carry loads
- As part of the public face of the brewery, it’s essential you are someone who is polite, punctual and well organised.
Desirable
- Formal brewing qualification up to IBD General Certificate or greater
- Experience / formal training operating lifting equipment (forklifts, scissor lifts etc)
- Experience using Breww
