Brewer – Acorn Brewery

The award winning, well established Acorn Brewery of Barnsley are looking for a well organised, enthusiastic individual to join and lead the production and , the successful individual will be an experienced leader within the brewery industry, they will be responsible for all aspects of brewery operations: brewing, packaging, warehousing, distribution, stock control You will be required to maintain and execute all functions according to policy and procedure, safety requirements, and best practice.
Job Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Lead the Production team
- React quickly to solve problems
- Communicate regularly and efficiently with all staff
- Development of new recipes
- Management of the day 2 day running of the brewing process
- Management of raw material
- Management of brewery records
- Quality control of beers in the fermentation and conditioning processes
- Check in/out goods
- Ensure all require documentation is maintained
- Monitoring all aspect of the brew, including, Monitor gravities, temperatures daily
- Overseeing IT requirements meet the business needs
- Representing Acorn various tours, events, festivals and other promotions
Skills and Experience
- 5 years’ experience in brewing industry
- Customer service/sales skills
- Experience managing staff
- Brewing or related degree preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent Communication Skill
- Full UK Driving License
- Forklift license
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- The capability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
