We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Head Brewer to lead our brewing operations and help shape the next chapter of the BrewBoard story.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines brewing expertise with creativity, technical precision, and a commitment to quality. You’ll manage day-to-day production at our Harston brewery, oversee recipe development, and ensure every pint that leaves the brewery meets our exacting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the brewing process from grain to glass
- Develop and refine recipes to align with BrewBoard’s flavour and brand ethos
- Manage brewing schedules, raw material orders, and production planning
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and quality standards
- Maintain accurate brewing records, quality control data, and stock levels
- Train, mentor, and support brewery staff
- Collaborate with management on new product development and special releases
- Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, sustainability, and innovation
About You
We’re looking for someone who is as comfortable on the brew deck as they are leading a team. You’ll have a strong technical foundation, a creative mindset, and a real enthusiasm for craft beer culture.
Essential:
- Proven experience as Head Brewer, Lead Brewer, or Senior Brewer
- Strong technical knowledge of brewing processes, fermentation, and packaging
- Understanding of HACCP, COSHH, and drink safety systems
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- A practical, problem-solving attitude and attention to detail
- Passion for innovation and collaboration
Desirable:
- Formal brewing qualifications (e.g. IBD Diploma or equivalent)
- Experience with small to medium-scale brewery operations
- Knowledge of sustainable brewing practices
- Familiarity with BREWW brewery software
