HEAD BREWER – CORNWALL
We are looking for an experienced brewer to head up our operational team and take us forward with the brewing and packing of our range of beers and lagers. We pride ourselves in innovation and expect the new brewer to drive exciting new craft beers to support our core ranges.
St Ives Brewery has grown from strength to strength, winning contracts with all major retailers, along with a solid free-trade of cask, keg, bottle and canned beers. We have developed an extensive portfolio of innovative beers and continue to push the boundaries of brewing craft and science on our state of the art SSV 30HL 4 Vessel Brewhouse.
Responsible to the General Manager with the following key duties:
- Overall responsibility for all brew house operations.
- Ordering of all raw materials for production of beers & lagers.
- Management of all stocks to meet production plans & sales forecasts.
- Maintain efficient, cost effective & hygienic brew house standards (KPIs).
- Monitor brew house performance and beer quality.
- Promote the company H&S policy and abide by all HMRCE requirements.
- Operate within the company Quality Management Systems.
- Lead the development of new products.
- Establish a culture of continuous improvement.
- Look after the welfare of our teams and ensure they operate in a clean and safe workplace.
About you:
- At least 3 years brewing experience in a commercial brewery ideally with some of this in a senior role.
- A relevant qualification in brewing preferable.
- Experience with craft beers desirable.
- Ability to work both independently and with the management and brew team.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
