As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced and progressive Managing Director to lead GB Group, who will be responsible for developing and transforming the GB Strategy whist leading the team to drive sustainable growth.
About the job, Key Accountabilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a forward-thinking strategy for the Gloucester Brewery Group that drives sustainable growth using market trends, customer insights, and competitive analysis to position GB as a premier player in the market.
- Communication & Relationship Management: Cuts through complexity to find clear solutions and condense into clear messaging for varied audiences. Able to collaborate across the business to form positive relationships based on trust with a wide variety of stakeholders including the GB Board.
- Effectiveness:Make significant step change improvements in customer experience and service satisfaction using KPIs to measure & track these.
- Customer Experience: Implement significant improvements in customer experience and satisfaction, using KPIs to measure and track success.
- Digital Transformation: Drive digital initiatives to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer engagement, and transform business processes.
- Leadership:Help lead the development and implementation of innovative solutions that require a multi-disciplinary approach to solving. Build and lead a high-performance team, providing mentorship guidance, and fostering a culture of innovation, leadership, problem solving and collaboration.
- Financial Management – Oversee the company’s annual budget and financial reporting, monitor and implement the budget, ensuring financial targets are achieved, revenue is maximised, and costs are controlled. Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including the annual report, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. Seeking new funding or investment opportunities.
- Risk Management: Clear ability to manage risk effectively, take calculated risks and foster a strong Risk & Control environment
- Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all legal, regulatory, and industry standards, including food hygiene for manufacturing and hospitality, alcohol production and sale licensing, fire regulations, and health and safety requirements.
What we are looking for:
- Proven leadership experiencewith a particular emphasis on driving business transformation and growth. Ideally, you’ll have experience of working in a FCMG industry and have previously scaled up business successfully.
- Exeptional interpersonal and communication skills– including persuasive, influencing and motivational skills, as you’ll be required to engage with the leadership team to understand long-term strategic opportunities and challenges to help support the prioritisation of appropriate actions.
- Financial Management – highly financially literate/experience of budget management and implementing cost disciplines.
- Partner Management– Uses personal impact and positioning to build and sustain long-term relationships at all levels. Ability to resolve disagreements, build consensus and influences outcomes.
- Emotional Intelligence – Uses customer/colleague input to anticipate needs and steer targeted and outcome-focused plans.
- Leadership & Culture –Experience of leading and engaging teams to support a culture which fosters trust, growth and innovation.
- Innovative approachand willingness to challenge the status quo to achieve.
- Openness and cooperation: strong sense of professional ethicsand service to the GB Group and society; willingness to cooperate openly with all stakeholders, including customers, board, shareholders and local bodies; ability to communicate succinctly and effectively.
- Responsible delegation of responsibility: understanding of corporate governance; willingness to lead from the front; ability to manage diverse teams
