Packaging Lead
Award-Winning HOLOS is a busy kombucha brewery based just north of Worthing in West
Sussex. We are a small friendly team that produces authentic kombucha and soda for
distribution across the UK. This is a great chance to join a company that is a force for good
with our work supporting survivors of slavery and trauma.
Applications are invited for a Packaging Lead from a wide range of candidates including
those with a soft drinks, packaging, brewing, food or engineering background with at least 2 years production experience, ideally in small pack. Qualified to college or university level
within a relevant discipline, you will be someone who can understand production processes, assist in maintaining equipment and enjoy diagnosing and fixing faults.
This is a hands-on role demanding physical fitness and energy, good communication skills,
an ability to solve problems and a willingness to be flexible according to the needs of the
business. A career progression leading to a senior role exists for the right individual.
Reporting to: Production Manager
Location: North Farm, Washington
Start date: Sep 2024
Shift Pattern: Full time, 40 hours. Week days (typically 8.30am-5.00pm)
Tasks & responsibilities:
– Running a bottling line equipped with an inline labeller, carbonator and automatic 6
head counter pressure filler (single head capper) operating at 900 bottles per hour
– Running a canning line equipped with a date coder and automatic 2 head filler (single
seaming station) operating at 1000 cans per hour
– Pasteurisation (cans)
– Packaging line changeovers
– Startups / shutdowns
– Ensuring cleaning is carried out in accordance with the equipment and site
schedules
– Diagnosing and fixing line issues and line preventive maintenance
– Stacker and pallet truck operation
– Working with part or full time packaging operators
– Batch record keeping
– Ensuring Health & Safety standards are maintained
– Ensuring HACCP, SALSA and QC standards are maintained
– Assistance with brewing, flavouring and soda blending as required
Training Provided:
– HACCP certification to level 3
– Forklift certification
