Production Brewer
Production brewer: £28,000-30,000pa depending on experience – 40 hours per week. Exale is hiring a production brewer. Founded in 2019 Exale has built a reputation as one of the most exciting breweries in London, producing an acclaimed range of ever-changing beers from irn-bru-inspired sours to double IPAs and everything in between. This is an exciting time to be joining Exale as we have plans to produce over fifty one-off specials over the next year and ambitions to expand our bar operations. In 2023 we opened our sister pub, the Three Colts Tavern in Bethnal Green and we intend to continue to open further venues over the next year and beyond. We are looking for an experienced brewer to come and help run the production side of our operation at our brewery and Taproom on the Blackhorse beer mile. Working alongside our Head Brewer the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the production process, from receiving deliveries of raw materials to ensuring fresh beer gets to our bars in the best possible condition. This is a varied role where no two days are likely to be the same but some of the core duties for the position are as follows: Wort production on our 20HL brewhouse QC/QA checks on fermenting and conditioning beers Keeping accurate records of brewery activities and stock movements on our brewery management software (Breww) Dry hopping / finning beers as required Packaging into keg and occasionally other formats Picking and packing orders Carrying out preventive maintenance tasks in the brewery as required Participating in and contributing to new product development meetings for future specials What are we looking for? The ideal candidate will be able to tick off the following, however, while meeting these will get you to the top of the list, we welcome applications from people who don’t necessarily meet all the below requirements but still feel they would be a good fit for the role. At least two years experience in a brewing role in a production brewery over 10HL IBD qualifications or equivalent.
