We are an award-winning small batch brewery based just outside of Cambridge in Linton (CB21 4XN). We are now moving into our 7th year and our beers are well loved and are becoming increasingly well known in and around Cambridge. Initially starting on a 10bbl brewkit we have recently expanded with an additional 20bbl brewkit primarily to satisfy demand but also because we now need to have more of a national presence. As a modern progressive brewery, we brew our favourite styles from around the world in small and large pack (keg and more recently cask). We operate a successful and thriving tap room.
SALES MANAGER REQUIRED
Wylde Sky Brewing are looking for an enthusiastic and driven team member with a solid track record of sales achievements within the beer industry, to fill our newly created position of a dedicated Sales Manager.
We have developed a strong home trade market in and around Cambridge over the last six years, built around some fantastic local customers but we now need to reach further afield.
We have recently heavily invested in a new brew facility and cold storage to maintain stock levels and extend our range, and the new Sales Manager will be key to executing our long- and short-term sales strategy.
YOU:
You will work with our small friendly team apply your sales skills, market analysis and industry experience to develop and execute a solid growth strategy. You will be responsible for maintaining our existing customer database as well as building and developing new customer relationships, increasing our profile and reach locally as well as across the country.
We are looking for someone positive and approachable, who can help devise and successfully implement a robust sales strategy. You have the ability to work well under pressure and manage expectations of sometimes demanding and challenging customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Full time Sales Manager role based at home or in the office but mainly out in the field as meeting clients/customers face to face is an essential part of the job. Hours can be flexible but should be in keeping with those of the general trade customers.
- Develop direct relationships with key accounts and new customers to maximise value and grow volume, revenue and brand awareness.
- Using and updating our CRM and database system
- Implement an informed, evidenced sales approach, which targets efficient sales and profitable growth with customers that share our values
- Actively identifying and establishing opportunities to securing new customers. Negotiate new contracts and pricing
- Involvement with our marketing and social media, producing weekly stories with interesting and imaginative content
- Take an active role in planning the brew schedule and beer line-up, using your direct knowledge of what our customers want as well as advising what beer styles, branding and packaging formats will prove popular to our market
- Work with management to set sales strategy and growth targets, organise and implement marketing campaigns
- Helping to organise efficient delivery runs and make best use of drivers.
- Advising on areas of the business that we can develop to reach our full potential
- Maintaining an understanding of stock levels and sales needs
- Loading vans and occasional deliveries as/when needed.
- Report regularly to management to review sales performance and adjust sales strategy
- Represent Wylde Sky Brewing with professionalism, knowledge and passion at nationwide events and beer festivals including some occasional evenings and weekends
Core Skills and Experience
- Direct experience of brewery sales to on and off trade. Experience of exporting is useful but not essential
- AN outgoing personality with a passion and enthusiasm for beer, with an extensive knowledge of beer styles and the wider industry
- An ability to collaborate and build relationships, using your network within the industry to bring in new ideas and best practice
- The flexibility and willingness to pitch in in all areas of the brewery that is necessary in a small business
- Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills
- Full clean UK driving licence, and over 25 years of age for van insurance purposes
- The right to work in the UK

Salary is dependent on experience, and we have an open mind on the starting level. There is scope for this to increase as we develop the business and if successful sales growth is achieved.
This is a full-time position (42.5 hours a week). We would like you to start as soon as possible.
