It’s official… Robinsons Visitors Centre is Marketing Cheshire’s Small Visitors Attraction 2014 and will now represent the county at the National Visit England awards for Excellence in May 2015.
The Marketing Cheshire awards, now in their 10th year, celebrate the excellence and achievement of the Cheshire’s local business community. 350 guests were in attendance at Chester Racecourse as 50 individuals and businesses competed to take home the gold prize across 14 categories.
Katrina Michel, chief executive of Marketing Cheshire said: “The awards are about celebrating all that is wonderful about the tourism industry in Cheshire. The quality of award submissions were so high our judges had a really tough job on their hands selecting the winners. We are privileged to be able to list so many stand-out venues, brands and experiences on offer in the sub-region.”
Fighting off fierce competition from some of Cheshire’s most iconic attractions, the judges remarked that Robinsons Visitors Centre had helped bring over 40,000 new visitors to the town and contributed to Stockport Old Town’s ongoing transformation as an art and culture hub.
Olivia Holmes, Manager of the Visitors Centre said: “The award is the culmination of nearly two years of hard work. We couldn’t have done it without our fantastic bar staff, chefs, retail marketing team and, of course, our customers. The feedback we’ve received since opening in March 2013 has been overwhelmingly positive and we hope this award will be the first of many!”
William Robinson, Managing Director of Robinsons Brewery (Pubs Division) said: “The award is a great achievement for Robinsons. Since a multi-million pound investment in our state-of-the-art brew house and Visitors Centre, we have had the pleasure of sharing our beers, passion and story with many families, businesses – who regularly use our conferencing facilities – and beer enthusiasts. As a family brewery that has been based in Cheshire for over 175 years, we are proud to represent the county in next year’s national Visit England awards.”
