Wadworth Visitor Centre Win Gold At The South West Tourism Awards!
Devizes-based brewer Wadworth is celebrating as the brewery’s much-loved Visitor Centre was awarded Gold in the Small Visitor Centre Attraction category at the South West Tourism Awards last night.
The only Wiltshire based attraction chosen as a finalist in this category, the brewery centre team attended the prestigious awards ceremony, held at The Grand Pier in Weston super Mare.
‘’What an amazing night’ ’said Visitor Centre Manager Michelle Field. ‘’We were thrilled to even have been selected as finalists in such a strong category – so to go on to win gold is a huge achievement. I’m immensely proud of the whole team.’’
Opening its doors 7 years ago, the Wadworth Brewery Visitor Centre was established in a bid to share Wadworth’s extensive knowledge and expertise with fellow ale lovers; giving those passionate about good beer an insight into the company’s unique history and heritage.
An integral part of the Visitor Centre experience are the popular brewery tours, where as well as a chance to explore the brewery itself visitors are taken to Wadworth’s very own sign-writing studio where all pub signs are still hand-painted.
There is also an opportunity to meet the brewery’s most famous residents – the Wadworth Shire Horses, before finishing off with a tutored beer sampling session where visitors can enjoy and appreciate a selection of Wadworth’s wonderfully hand crafted cask ales.
The Visitor Centre will now go forward to form the regional heat of the national VisitEngland awards which are announced in May.
