Flagship ‘Indie Beer Scotland’ festival returns to Glasgow for 2025

Tickets are selling fast for Scotland’s biggest independent beer festival, organised by the team behind the UK-wide Indie Beer campaign – Indie Beer Scotland returns to Clyde Rooms at Edmiston House in Glasgow on the 5th & 6th September 2025.

Each of the three festival sessions will be pouring over a hundred different cask and keg beers from some of Scotland’s best independent breweries, plus cider & spirits from independent Scottish producers, the event is in its third year in Glasgow after launching in Edinburgh in 2022.

Indie Beer Scotland is organised by Scottish brewers from the not-for-profit trade association the Society of Independent Brewers and Associates, the same organisation that last year launched the Indie Beer campaign in an effort to fight back against global-owned ‘craft’ beer brands.

Ian McGrath of Beath Brewing is one of the festival organisers and had this to say on returning to Glasgow for 2025,

“We big have plans for Indie Beer festivals across the UK in 2026, but it all started right here in Scotland and we are hugely proud to be the flagship event for the Indie Beer campaign and to be the festival that showcases the largest number of Scottish beers from independent breweries available anywhere. No big brands, no faux-craft, just great beer from genuinely independent Scottish brewers.”

Indie Beer Scotland is the country’s biggest showcase of solely Scottish beers and offers great value for money, with a large number of session beers including cask and craft keg available from just £4 a pint and all prices frozen at 2024 rates.

“We are really proud to offer great value for money and to enable everyone to sample the huge range of cask ales, keg beers and lagers available at Indie Beer Scotland – so have once again frozen our prices, with all beers up to 4.5% available for just £4 a pint.” Ian added

Indie Beer Scotland is also the home of the Indie Beer Awards 2025, with judging taking place to name Scotland’s very best beers prior to the festival opening to the public – making festival-goers the first to try Scotland’s Official best beers, with all this year’s winning beers available over the three sessions Friday to Saturday. Beers range from session strength lagers and pale ales of 4%, to barrel-aged imperial stouts and scotch ales which tip the scales at a punchy 10% abv or more.

Indie Beer Scotland runs from Friday the 5th until Saturday 6th September 2025, Clyde Rooms at Edmiston House, Glasgow.
