Job Title: Technical Packaging Operator

Due to our continuing growth we are currently looking for an experienced Packaging team member to join the team and help support and drive our operations to further improve the quality and output volume.
Position Overview: In this role you will be responsible for operating packaging equipment across canning, kegging and cask filling, ensuring the beer being packaged is of the highest quality both inside and outside the packaging and being involved in maintenance associated with the line centres.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety, housekeeping and quality standards are adhered to at all times. You must ensure your safety and the safety of others during the course of your duties.
- Ensure the security of the property, equipment and stock.
- Cleaning and general housekeeping; you must maintain a clean environment for the production and distribution of our products.
- Execute all necessary packaging and warehouse operations – operating the can line, cleaning and filling casks and kegs as per the production plan.
- Ensure all paperwork and QC checks are completed in full, to the highest standard.
- Reporting out of specification product to the Pack and/or Brewing Leads and assisting in resolving any issues.
- Ensure inventory management is controlled, managing pack materials to manage and reduce wastage. Completing regular stocktakes and reporting any discrepancies and managing stock items on a FIFO basis.
- Routine maintenance and troubleshooting of packaging equipment and assisting with breakdowns and general brewery maintenance as required.
- Support with other production tasks including brewing and cellar activities as required by the production demands.
- Carry out other duties as required by company management.
- This role may be required to periodically attend festivals and events on behalf of the company and in doing so must behave as an ambassador of Buxton Brewery.
Requirements:
- Experience in beverage packaging operations, especially small pack operations.
- A flexible attitude towards work and must be prepared to work on a rotating shift pattern and weekends as and when required.
- Passion for craft beer and a desire to pursue a career in the brewing industry.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Great troubleshooting ability and ability to withstand pressure in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Knowledge of brewery operations processes and best practices is a plus.
- The IBD General Certificate in Packaging is desirable, though not strictly required.
- Trade skills and/or FLT licence would be an advantage.
